Listen to the sermon from May 28, read Colossians 3:1-17, and consider the following questions:

1. What benefits are yours in Christ Jesus (vv. 1-4; Eph. 1:3-11; Rom. 6:4-14)? How have these benefits made Jesus more beautiful in your eyes?

2. What changes in lifestyle, habits, or sin have you attempted to make on your own? How does knowing all that Jesus accomplished belongs to you make a difference in your battle against your sinful flesh (vv. 1-4)?

3. What does it mean to mortify the flesh (vs. 5; Rom. 6:6; Gal. 2:20; 5:24)? In union with Christ which of the three spheres of life that Paul mentions in the text do you need to seek to mortify (vv. 5-9)?

4. Why is community indispensable to your walk with Christ, spiritual growth, and transformation (vv. 12-16)? Based on Paul’s list, where do you specifically need to lean into and engage Christian community?

5. Why should you seek to change and grow in your walk with Jesus (vs. 17; 1 Cor. 10:31)? How can you practice gratitude for what God has done for you in Christ?
