Here are two ideas for a family devotional on discipleship.

1) The Great Commission

Read Matthew 28:18-20 and discuss what it means to be a disciple, how you can grow as a disciple of Jesus and how God may want to use you to help others grow. Also talk about how verse 18 (“All authority in heaven and earth has been given to me…”) gives the grounds for the command and how the last sentencve (I am with you always…) gives us encouragement to fulfill the command.

2) Profile of a Disciple

Look at the Profile of a Disciple.  Pick a couple of the characterstics, read the accompanying verses, and discuss why these characteristics are important, what they are to look like in your lives, and how trusting the Lord and keeping our eyes on him can help these grow in our lives. Then pray that these characteristics would grow and be more evident in your lives and throughout our church family.
