This is the second of a 5-part video series on “Psychiatric Disorders.”

One of our core values at Harvest Fellowship is Life-on-Life ministry. We know that spiritual growth happens in the context of relationships – with God and with each other. As we seek to get to know one another better, we recognize that there are those among us who suffer from the kinds of brokenness that psychiatric labels describe. People struggling with complex psychiatric problems hurt deeply, feel socially isolated, and are often misunderstood. There are no easy answers or quick fixes. As helpers, we need to develop a feel for the slow process of change, be willing to live with uncertainty, and keep our spiritual bearings. This 5-part series is intended to help us recognize when these issues may be present and offer suggestions on how to offer biblical help.

In this second session, Ed Welch unpacks an important theological concept for understanding psychiatric disorders: human beings are embodied souls. This understanding provides us with a biblical method to approach people who are struggling.

Come join us as we explore biblically sound approaches to help us as we come alongside people struggling with complex psychiatric problems. Call Karen Metz (410.474.6779) or Betsy Dodge (410.474.1678) for more information.
